Battery powered Dac

If clean power is important for dacs, has anyone tried the 5v external phone batteries on dacs?  At $10-40 it doesn't cost much to try it.

None of my DACs are wall wart models, so I cannot try this unless I get one of those cheap and cheerful models to play with. However, it should work well, don't you think?

OK, I've got a used Topping D50 coming from overseas.  When it gets here, I'll try my phone battery, if I can find it,  and report back.
