They are called elliptical bi-axial horns, better control ceiling reflections.

I agree wholeheartedly!  Scott has a great little shop with lots of unique designs... and like Tom said, they ain't just pretty, his creations sound good too! 

One of my favorites are his "guitar" speakers.

Scott's store is a "hidden gem" across from the Douglaston, Queens train station. BTW - he does mods, repairs, guitar amps and pro-audio as well as custom speakers.  Best of all, service is always with a smile!
