GRACIOUS!
« on: April 28, 2010, 05:04:26 AM »
I got my very first audiophile Shuko plug today, Used, from a frenchie somewhere (local e-bay-type site) paid 20$. very handsome well made piece of kit. I don't know what it will do for me but it sure will look classy with Grover's power cable. I can hear you saying "hmmm after 30 years it was about time". Quite right.

When you finally make the connection clean and polish those conductors before installing plug. Then tighten screws to 12 Ft lbs. Do not over tighten.
  Enjoy!!!

Come on Charles, get with the program. Shep is in France. They are not allowed to do Ft lbs over there. His screws need to be torqued down to 16.27 Newton Meters.  If he tightens the plug with foot pounds it might not be able to pass that European 50 cycle current.

It was a pain in the ass to assemble! some perv. thought this one up. I tightened as much as I could but will let my English modding guru take it apart (hehe) and do it right. Anyway he's going to put a proper socket on the cdp and the lady end.
