My bother-in-law used to have a restaurant. I wired the whole place with these speakers. Must have been at least 6 pairs. More that good enough for low level background musice and you couldn't beat the price.  :thumb:

I used to purchase them and mod them for friends and family.  Many pairs are still being used.  My mods were okay but these mods really take those Minimus speakers to another lever.  If you have a pair tucked away and want to have some fun over the winter, please take some time and read these two threads ->

You have nothing to lose except some pocket change and you may be pleasantly surprised with outcome, as many of these folks are.   :thumb:

Happy listening,

A musically satisfying system is 50% the components and 50% you.  Until you have a handle on your own "inner sensibilities to sound and music," you are only dealing with half of the equation.

I had a pair of those in my first good system. A nice little Onkyo receiver, Technics TT, two Denon cassette decks, and the Minimus 7s. I even blew a woofer once and bought a replacement driver off the shelf at the local RS. They made nice bass for their size.

I seem to remember that the ones I had cost $49 each. Maybe it was a different version?

We had a local audiophile guy come to a meet last year who's passion was modding those little RS speakers. He brought a couple different pairs along to play. He was an odd fellow, but very passionate, and loquacious.

Actually Rich they are 49.99 but very few ever bought them at that price. They would wait for the 2x a year for them to go on sale for 29.99.  But to make it correct can you change the title for me.

Thanks

Thanks Evan, so it is the same one. Somehow I always bought mine at $50. I think I did buy them twice over the years. Nice little speaker. I wonder how much the solid aluminum box helped the clarity of the sound. They were sealed.

The OP is changed, which will be 49 for future posts, but I can't change the other existing $29 posts.

I used one in my 1979 Saab 99.  The car came with no place to mount a radio (the original design was from 1957), so I added a $60 replacement panel for the center under dash (there was no full center console) so that a radio could be installed.  Bought a AM/FM mono (didn't want it ripped off) and one of those $50 speakers, mounted in the rear window, directly behind the driver's (my) head.  Worked great.
