The Monoliths II speakers with dspNexus 2x8
« on: December 30, 2023, 01:12:47 PM »
Time to update the original Monoliths speakers to the Monoliths II's.

Replacing the BG NEO10 planars with the new Radian Audio LM10n planar midranges that are in the Magnetar II speakers.

The dspNexus 2x8 system DSP crossover design will be updated to use the LM10n planars with the GR NEO3 planar tweeters.

Time to wire the planars with Analysis Plus Oval 16 cable to the Parasound Z-Amp v3's for testing.

Have the two Monoliths II's wired to start testing.

Now to connect the Parasound Z-Amp v3 to use with CLIO for the frequency response measurements.

The Monoliths II are setup for some testing of the new Radian Audio LM10n planar as a midrange.  The Parasound Z-Amp v3 fits besides the planars for 2' driver cables.

The CLIO system is setup with the calibrated measurement mic at center of tweeter height.

First set of measurements are done and DSP crossover for the Monoliths II's has been updated.

Have the dspNexus 2x8 running the new crossover and have signal through the planars.

The Parasound Z-AMP v3 is driving the two planars.  Now to setup the 2x12 servo subs integrated with the planars.

Rich,
Are you done with the acoustic treatments?

Nick,
No.  There is a lot more to do for treatments.

Had to make new servo sub cables today to get the system connected.

Got the Monoliths II's playing music from the dspNexus 2x8.  Still some level checks to do to set the gains for each driver.

Did some DSP crossover rework of the Monoliths II with the CLIO Pocket system measurements and this is the on-axis farfield response in the room.

Still have room modes to work on below 200Hz and possibly some tweeter response flattening that can be done.
