I've always jumped to the bass - I'm going to try the diagonal this weekend also, thanks for the tip. :thumb:

Good one Ed...I have had my HT Wharfedale Diamonds8.2s hooked up that way, into the tweeter+ and out from the bass-.
Totally forgot about that, I never did compare all the different ways.  :duh

Bass -

Just make sure you have good jumpers....
....not those cheap metal strips that come with some speakers.... :thumb:

It is facinating that I think I can hear a difference, but when you stop and consider - the only difference is that the bass is getting fed a positive run a few inches longer than the negative run and the reverse for the tweeter.    We would never consider doing this on speakers with only a single pair of posts.

So, other than this just being evil wrought by Ed for Halloween, what's the explanation?

From an electrical standpoint it shouldn't make any difference at all, so perhaps ...

- moving the wires has removed some tarnish/gunk and you now have a cleaner connection
- psychoacoustic jibber jabber has created an anticipation in your brain that you are now hearing
- maybe it really does make a difference in some unexplained way
Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you'll have to blow your nose.

High impedance temporary jumper connections are spread out evenly top and bottom instead of stacked all on one. Temporary connections are bad news in signal path, whether jumpers, switches, pots, tube pins etc.

The interesting thing would be to compare the diagonal wiring to biwiring to see how close it comes.  And also to compare diagonal to traditional connection with cleaned contacts or contact enhancer to reduce impedance of the temporary connections.

I have read a lot of "free audiophile tweaks" lists, even some that i have paid for, none ever mentioned this one.
