not counting the different features of the 168 over the 128 and with some reporting that non-upsampling sounds better than upsampling and with the 128 giving you the option of either and 168 only upsampling, do you think the 168 is worth the difference in price?  would i be just as happy with the 128?

I was at a couple of local G2G's when Steve brought his Raysonic 168 CDP.  It is an excellent sounding player.  I think it would be unfair to guess at a comparison of the relative values of 128 to the 168 as I have not heard the 128.  Steve, I believe, said he purchased his 168 used and for the music it produces he obtained an incredible audio value.

that is a great price + the tubes. hitting me at the wrong time.  trying to scheme upon an ayon cd-1s or for $300 more a new cd-168 with warranty. and if i'm lucky and this turns out to sound great a cd player i will be getting in for review.
