Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins- Rabbit Fur Coat

Jenny Lewis has a great voice and an affected style that I can't get enough of.  I find her easy to listen to and painfully honest.  She's cutting, vulnerable, angry and insane all at the same time.  Some find her to be an acquired taste, but I drink her in at every opportunity.

These 2 recent releases have both caught my attention for my "best of 2014 prog rock" list:

Umphreys McGee - Similar Skin
(also seeing them live this winter with my daughter)



Flying Colors - Second Nature
(some "kings of prog" getting together to make their second album)

This LP is awesome! One of my fav swing albums. Got it when I was 12yo. Check it out!

Pure hard bop! Horace Silver's best band at it's peak, in a live concert, long tracks with long solos. This record was about all I listened to in 1980.

Nothing to be said. One of the great American classics. When I drive to visit RobS I love to play Appalachian Spring as I drive through WV mountains.

Got an email this afternoon saying that they have finally released the new Deluxe 180g 2LP set of Led Zeppelin IV and my copy was received at the post office in Doylestown PA. :yay2:



Hopefully it will make it to LI by Wed since the Mrs. has a appointment that night, which will give em a chance to crank it up and see what the upper SPL limit of those Nolas really is.  :dj:
