Sorry to hear that Rich....but feel free to try a search.... :thumb:

Thanks Chris... ALIS looks great, but still a long drive. Lets try Wake County Public Library:

http://wakeipac.co.wake.nc.us/ipac20/ipac.jsp?session=1313JLX133118.5676&menu=search&aspect=subtab24&npp=30&ipp=20&spp=20&profile=wcpl&ri=1&source=~%21horizon&index=.A2&term=jim+hall&x=0&y=0&aspect=subtab24

Now that's a familiar sight!  :x

Richland County Library here in humble Columbia, South Carolina has three copies of the Jim Hall CD.  Of course I live in Lexington county, about a quarter mile from the Richland line, so I can't benefit.

Check with you reference librarian, (s)he might be able to arrange for an interloan between the libraries. Maybe, maybe not, but it's worth asking.

That is an excellent idea Tom! We do have some seriously well endowed private universities and seriously broke state colleges in this area, all with music programs and big libraries, so they are probably connected to the public libraries. I will ask the librarians.
Thanks!
Rich

Silk Degrees
Boz Scaggs | Format: vinyl

A good album that got lost in the 'disco haze' of the '70s. The studio musicians backing Boz on this went on to form Toto.

Kenny Burrell: Be Yourself

CD

From Amazon:
The diversity and elegance of Kenny Burrell's guitar playing is evident throughout this exceptionally fine performance, the latest in Highnote's on-going series captured live at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Jazz at Lincoln Center. From the very start of his career Kenny Burrell has been described as a bop and hard bop player. The bop elements are there, to be sure, along with blues and a great blend of the two styles. But, Kenny Burrell also exhibits a much gentler, more melodic and expressive style of play. Hear what made George Benson exclaim, "There is no finer guitarist than Kenny Burrell."

I would love to find this one on vinyl.   Chad, are you listening?  [-o<

And I think it is a great album, rather than good.
