Really.. How did you get the sand from leaking out the bottom of the posts.
Actually.. I guess the bottom is pretty much sealed.. so it wouldn't be an issue

You can also use Kitty Litter (unused) if you are a wimp.

Im going to try moving some wires around. I believe I have the amp plug going into a cheap outlet strip. Will move it to the wall.
Also.. I have a biwire speaker cable (Canare) and I taped up 2 of the connections since Im only using 2 connections... Might that have an affect? hell its gonna blow up!

Try both to rule them out. Use your merlin wires or zipcord just to make sure everything is OK. But I would call them if changes still show red light.
Do you want to borrow my impedance tester? PM me

Scotty,
I know you love those speakers! I didn't know they were series 1st orders. As modern drivers get better we see more 1st order XOs bit series are still rare. Tony Gee uses these sometimes in his DIY designs, like his soup sandwich. No doubt 1sts sound better when the drivers are up to it. I've not heard any series XO bit I'd like to.

A 1st. order series network speaker will seldom measure as well off axis as speaker with a higher order network due to lobing errors. Of course this didn't seem to impact the acceptance of Dunlavy's speakers which had a parallel first network with the same kind off axis behavior.
I suspect that Evolution Acoustics has more crossover parts than the simplest iteration of a 1st. order series topology. This is the only way I know of to protect the ribbon tweeters from out of band low frequency energy. The fact that Evolution Acoustics uses real ribbon tweeters and true ceramic cone drivers mandates that they protect the ceramic drivers from excess excursion which will shatter them like an eggshell. The tweeters are subject to both the ribbon being physically destroyed through excursion as well as thermal overload.
These would be additional shunt elements to limit the bandpass of the drivers on either side of center frequency of the crossover. This doesn't change the order of the network and exacts a smaller penalty sonically than having the drivers break or using a higher order network.

Pleated ribbons are not as vulnerable as flat ribbons to LF damage and the woofers are ceramic coated magnesium alloy, so they are very tough. This is what I mean about the new drivers allowing shallower filters. Pleated tweeters are popping up everywhere and cones are getting stiffer and quieter.

I was referencing the rest of the Evolution line as listed on their website. MM Micro One Monitor uses drivers that are, at present, different from the the rest of the speaker line.
They may well have been able to use the simplest 1st. order topology, which would be a coil and a cap. I don't count the zobels on the woofers.

Ill see if I can get John Tinn to give some insight to the crossover. He's pretty nice.

Using sand is good. to fill speakers. Using steel sand blasting material will give you more mass as it is heavier. The guys in the DC DIY club gave me this method. Very affective and inexpensive.

Hey Mike great purchase!  I've been reading about these for awhile.  I have an amp here I'd just love to hear with those speakers, as you know...
Maybe my big Cherry will make up for your lack of Manlyness.

The amp seems to be working fine now. Weird. I moved some plugs around and wires and now can play safely at ear bleeding levels!
Lol.
Im happy with the purchase.  They would be perfect for the room you have with the reclining chairs. Listening to Undertow by Tool right now.  V nice.
