Inexpensive Bluetooth Receiver Recommendation
« on: May 25, 2020, 06:40:39 AM »
Good Morning,
Does anyone use or have experience with an inexpensive bluetooth receiver for music/ home stereo use, not one geared toward car/ phone use...
I use the Audioengine B1, and it is as good as it gets as far as I'm concerned.
But, I have a frugal friend, and he's just not going to spend 189.00. I'd like some recommendations below a hundred bucks if possible. The transmitting source end will be an ipod touch and ipad. There is not a separate dac in the system, so the rca outs would be utilized.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Hey James:
Did the pad to blue tooth receiver rca to stereo.
Barry (from NJ) told me about the esinkin receiver.
Awesome little unit for 23 bucks.

I wouldn't call it "high-end" but it doesn't sound bad at all. I had gotten one for my son some time ago.

A thank you for the esinkin w29-US bluetooth receiver recommendation. I went to a friend's house this weekend, and I was able to dj the whole event using Tidal. It sounded great- no 'critical listening', but definitely exceeded my 23.00 expectations.
An easy suggestion for anyone needing bluetooth audio connectivy.

Glad it worked out for you.
It does have me wondering about the higher priced units.
How do you think it sounded compared to your unit at home?

Truthfully, I'd buy the esink. Since the system was completely different, and it was a loud party type thing, I could not venture a guess. But I will say, no one there was an audiophile(which might be a good thing), but they were enjoying the hell out of the music.
They are music festival types, so I was playing a lot of older but same style stuff; Santana, Dead, Hot Tuna, etc., along with 60's and 70's 'festival' things- Monterey Pop, Woodstock, etc., etc.
My friend has PSB Stratus Gold i speakers, and I gave him my LSA amp http://www.stereomojo.com/LSA%20SIGNATURE%20INTEGRATED%20AMP%20REVIEW/LSASIGNATUREINTEGRATEDAMPREVIEW.htm (mistake). We were probably cruising the night at 90-100db. Ear police need not worry- it was a fluid situation- out on the deck, back in, repeat.

Do you mean this Charles- https://www.amazon.com/JBL-PRV275-Gauge-Stereo-JBLPRV275/dp/B07KQDRBQW
Or are you referring to the JBL Bluetooth speakers? I am a big fan of the JBL bluetooth speakers- they sound great and go a long way on a charge.
FWIW, my reason for going upstate this past weekend was my friend's 10th anniversary, and a couple of us chipped in for a JBL Charge 4- https://www.amazon.com/JBL-Portable-Waterproof-Wireless-Bluetooth/dp/B07GWRCZQP
I don't know how they get such sound out of a relatively small piece. Highly recommended.
