FWIW

Quoted from Facebook by Alan Maher... and, no this is NOT intended to start a firestorm of "does too/does not" nonsense!

"BTW...just a little news....we have now sold a little over 2100 I-CBF's since they were first introduced last September....and for the record not one has been returned....thanks guys!"

If Alan will be shipping product 3 weeks from now I guess that means that he will not be working the US Summer tour with Kiss. Did he ever get back to you about being in the NY area in August?

It is a passive device you attach to the circuit breaker or wire bundle in your Electrical panel. CBFs also may be installed inside the duplex outlet that feeds your system. For $25 each retail a no brainer.
Barry we may have a few extra if interested for ya.

What was that 50/50 CBF all about? I can't get to Facebook, but I saw that mentioned in the other thread. Were the regular CBF's or the 50/50 CBF's ordered?

We ordered the regular CBF. Not sure how the 50/50 affects the sound. Alan says it softens it a bit. Several members have had positive affect with the original. We didn't want to experiment. Maybe Alan will send one along with the order to try out.

Here's what Alan described on his AN thread.

"50/50 is half Infinity and half Signature crystals mixed into one product.  The 50/50 maintains all the extension of the Infinity with the added bloom provided by the Signature.  Excellent choice for components leaning 1 or 2 notches to the bright side of neutral."

Don't mean to be a PITA. But a passive device that is supposed to do what/how?
I will likely be adding 2 dedicated, and unbroken, lines from the breaker box to my room this summer. Will these be beneficial?

P.S. Since I also run MonoBlocks I'm going to use this wiring  method...

You aren't the only one wondering, Barry. I don't know how the stuff works, but it does work, but I don't think it is as big effect as other power tweaking options I've heard. Maybe his more expensive gadgets have a bigger effect, I think that's what mdconnelly has reported. The effect is cumulative.  I know that magic tourmaline crystals in Acoustic Revive products have a strong effect. I think someone is using it on fuel lines too for increased mileage. The japs use it in almost everything, clothing, electronics, etc. Must be doing something, it would be cheaper to just use sand if it was just a fad. That said, I have no idea what the 2 secret powders are in Maher's black boxes.

I will likely be adding 2 dedicated, and unbroken, lines from the breaker box to my room this summer. Will these be beneficial?

This should be a noticable upgrade. Everytime I have heard it has always been a noticable improvement in quietness and dynamics. Make sure you put all of the audio system circuits on the same leg of the incoming 220V service. There is an article on AC about this, and I have mentioned it a couple times on AN.  If you wanna go crazy, JPS makes romex power cable and it is amazing, but it's expensive.

Great articles! Thanks Barry, I never saw those before. Good stuff. I met Scull at RMAF, he is a nice guy. I like his reviews, I wish he still did reviewing.

Hmmm... interesting. That's actually the opposite of what I was going to do. What's discussed in J-10's article, is running each outlet off of a different positive leg of the 220. Now I've got to go look for that thread on AC :duh
