Sounds like a hoot. Congratulations to Mikey Fremer! My favorite amp reviewer.

I would try to attend, depending on the date. Good time to visit NY, when there's no chance of snow.

As long as the date isn't a conflict with something else for me, count me in.

I'm being facetious of course. I've been in this hobby for 30 years.
Fremer has been around a long time. Lets have an "Honorary Dinner" for say, Richie.
Now, that is more befitting I think. AND, that is not a joke.

Why ? Our club voted to do this, that's why. Mike Fremer in our opinion is one of the leading reviewers and has enlightened many with his experience in analog. Years ago we honored Harry Pearson with a dinner which turned out very well. All had a great time mingling with Harry and the invited industry guests.
Sorry if you do not agree, as you are entitled to your opinion, but please don't rain on our parade thank you.

This idea has been kicking around the Syndrome for the better part of a year. At the March meeting (you were there) it was finally brought up as a formal business item and not only was it approved unanimously by the membership, there was not even one negative comment made about the idea when we discussed it.

Mike Fremer is not only one of the most highly respected writers in the industry (and as a die hard analog guy my favorite reviewer), but he is personally a heck of a nice guy. The last time we did something like this was the dinner we had for Harry Pearson which I thought was a resounding success and in all the years since then I have never found anyone who disagreed with that. In addition to any manufacturers or members of the audio press that may attend and event like this also presents us withe the opportunity to meet face to face with audiophiles from other clubs in the area many of which  we only know through electronic forums such as this and AC.

All in all what's not to like. If you are all of a sudden that against the idea, nobody is forcing you to attend. Feel free to stay home

I'm interested.

I find the negative comments rather odd.
