The February Meeting will be held on Friday the 20th at the Massapequa Park home of Lorenzo. As a special treat, it’s Lorenzo’s intention to have Mark Sendik, the proprietor of Infinity Records and CD’s of Amityville, as a guest speaker to discuss what to look for in records and CDs that make them collectible/valuable. To follow that theme Lorenzo will be playing rare/collectible records and CDs in both stereo and mono formats.
Lorenzo’s system is detailed below. He has made numerous upgrades to his system since last years meeting. The changes are highlighted in red.
Loudspeakers: KEF XQ-40, Bose 501
Linestage preamps: Cary SLP-03 (NOS 12AU7/5814A Mullards, RCA Blackplates)
Headphone amp: Dot MK IV
Phono stage: Musical Surroundings Phonomena II
Power amplifiers: Rogue ST-100 (NOS Telefunken 12AX7, Sylvania 12 AU7), Accurus DIA 100
Analogue source: TEAC A 2300SD 1/4” tape deck, VPI Scout II, Rega Planar 2, Lyra Delos MC, Soundsmith Zephry MK2 mono
Digital source: Harmon Kardon HD 990 CDP
Cables and interconnects: Silnote Audio XLR, Cardas Audio Parsec XLR, Harmonic Technology Truth Link, HT AC 11, PRO-9 Biwire, PS Audio AC-5 PC, Triode Labs PC
Power conditioners: Shunyata Venom, APC H15 BLK 1.5 kva
Accessories: VTI 4 shelf audio rack, VTI 404-01 amp stand, Gershman Acoustics Vibration Control, Mapleshade maple platform, Acoustimac sound panels, brass footers
Wow!! That’s a lot of stuff. I think Lorenzo’s been snooping around our Mr. Campanale’s Audio Swap and Shop!!
As usual, doors open at 7:30 with the formal meeting starting about 8:00 or so. Be sure to bring along some libations or deserts to keep the festivities going. Considering our meeting place, there should be wine aplenty, but BYOB (bring your own beer).

........and in memory of our dear departed friend Earl, perhaps a bottle of Diet Pepsi.

Diet Pepsi always works.

Heads up tomorrow is the meeting. We will have our annual snow ball fight.
It is the Tube Heads vs. the Sand Heads. Odds are 2:1 Sand Heads, younger bunch.

You are assuming that the snow will be soft enough to mold into snowballs and not frozen solid into a big glacier type slab.

Have Rollo send out a group email to members. I dont think my members visit here.
I'm sure someone took by accident and you'll get them back soon.

Hi Emil
I appreciate the thought, but I sent a broadcast e-mail to the club membership last night, right after my post here.
It's early, so I have to give the benefit of the doubt that not many are online yet, but no responses.

WOO-HOO!!!
OMG! I talked to Jim Marks this morning and HE took the bag with everything back home with him. He thought I forgot it and he figured he'd hold onto them until he saw me.
I cannot express how happy and relieved I am. :thumb:
I'm going to buy Lotto tix today!!! :D

Problem solved. No one took them by accident. Were taken back by the member who made them thinking you FORGOT them.

Lorenzo thank you for hosting a fun time. Great Chili and vinyl. hearing the Beatle mono Lps for the first tim was very impressive.
You hear everything meaning insrtruments ya never knew were being played. Ringo does a good job which one can actually discern.
The VPI Scout with two arms one stero cart one mono cart was a blessing. That mono cart was killer [ Zepher}. Take out one put in the other. Cool.
The new Carey preamp was a big improvement over the last one.
So thanks again for a good time had by all. Our March meeting will feature an all Audio note system demonstrated by the US importer/distrib. Sorry no guests only members.

Thanks lorenzo. Sorry i couldn't stay longer. But I did get a chance to hear SRV. I was surprised that was a standard pressing. Sounded very nice. I can only imagine what one of those super duper pressings sound like

Great meeting last nite Lorenzo. Thanks for hosting!

Thanks Lorenzo, I really enjoy meetings at your home. The system sounded better than ever and I really like your layout and "personal touches" found throughout the house. You also have my vote for the coolest man cave to hang out in and grab a drink [at the bar!] with all the nostalgia and great photos. Much appreciated! Happy Lissn'n. G. :thumb:
