Hi all.
One - two - three - Testing - testing.

If this works, you should see the pictures of my debut in audio when I was 18 years old, that's
more than five decade ago.
At that time, it was tubes, transistors where in just starting...

Hi all.

The blurry black & white picture of what looks like a mono amplifier is, in fact
a mono amplifier that I've built with scavenged parts from old radios and TV.
It use 5Y3 as a rectifier and a 6F6 penthode as power tube and a 6SN7 as voltage amplifier triode.
The power of this single channel is ? ?  ? 5 watts at the most with probably 25% distortion and
a range of 50 to 10KHz plus or minus 10 Db. (Ha, ha, ha....)
The volume control is combined with the power switch (Common in those days)
with a tone control.
I wanted to have a bass and treble controls, but at that time,
too complicated for me.
I really used whatever I cold put my hands on for free.
I bought a soldering gun (Weller 100-140Watts).
That's more or less what started my love for audio.
What also helped was the fact that my father bought a RCA stereo furniture,
two units, one with turntable and amplifier and one for the Lps.
Each unit had a 6.5'' woofer and two 3.5'' tweeters at 20 degrees angle.
Also my mother bought from Selection of Reader's Digest an album of LPs with classical music.
That how the '' Evolution '' started.
The picture of the mess was my corner working shop.
My father gave me that space, was not easy with 10 children under one roof (Bungalow).
More to come, if you are still interested.
Any comments are more than welcome.
That's why I join Audio Nervosa to exchange experience and more.

I expect no less than a zillion comments, I know that's a lot.

Hi all.
After building my own super 6F6 mono amp,
I found a job at Cité Életronique (Hochelaga street, Montréal)
and thre I could buy as an employee at discount price
audio stuff and I could pay on monthly installements.
Soooo, I bought lots of stuff and my very first real hi-fi stereo system.
Dual 1019 turntable, Sony tape deck, Nippon SOUND amplifier from Japan (35wpc)
and bookshelf speakers from RSC (Radio Speaker of Canada)
I kept and enjoyed every piece of it for a few years
and I am sure I would still enjoy it today.
More of the evlolution soon.

Hi all (Again).
The little 45 reccord player on top of the stereo was for playing 45 rpm LPs.
Notice that the tone arm is on the wrong side,
that's because the negative of the picture was printed the wrog side.
