He may also be putting an Ortofon SPU mono cart for sale. He hasn't decided yet if he wants to let it go but he's considering it.

This is a great chance to own a legendary cartridge for a fraction of the going price. Still a lot of mileage left on it.

I have made a big decision last night to buy a new turntable and arm. I have already bought a new cartridge, a Dynavector XX-2.

So I am selling my Garrard 401 and both Jelco tonearms (9 and 12 inch).

The turntable is in excellent condition but the custom plinth has a number of cracks in the wood. The person who made it offered to replace it a year ago but at the time I was not in the mood to tear down my turntable so I told him I would be in touch. I found out yesterday he is no longer in business and the other sources for a custom made plinth that I actually liked are out of my price range (more than the cost of a new turntable) so my only other alternative is to find a vintage plinth and then refinish it, and I'm not up for that.

So eventually I will most likely go back to two turntables. One high end deck for stereo LPs and my audiophile reissues and then an inexpensive deck for mono.

I have settled on a phono preamp and have ordered a Jasmine LP 3.0 MM/MC. It has 3 channels and can therefore support up to three cartridges, and it has adjustable gain and loading.

If anyone is interested in my turntable the asking price is $750 and I can provide some pictures. It is configured for 120v 60Hz. I'm asking $250 each for the tonearms. New the 9 inch arm was $500 and the 12" arm $600.

This also means I am putting up my Ortofon SPU CG-25DI Mono MC cartridge. Asking price for that is $350. Retail new is $995.00.
