If the system gets hot while playing how long would
you have to wait before covering?
Duh! just read your equipment, it will take a while to cool.

  The question at hand is. Does your gear put out heat to begin with ? If so if you can keep some room from walls and vent clg. a non issue.

All equipment puts out heat, it is just a matter of how much. Bill is using a tubed pre and a Moscode 600 power amp that has fan driven cooling on the output MOSFETs as well a 6 tubes, so he does have a significant amount of heat to dissipate.
