Pink Floyd - The Endless River

Columbia CD

Just released this week, Pink Floyd's first studio album in 20+
years. The album is based on music recorded during The Division Bell sessions and in fact much of the music on The Endless River was sourced for those original recordings (most notably keyboard track by Richard Wright who had unfortunately passed away before this project began.) Although it is based on the Division Bell sessions I can also hear the musical stylings of Wish You Were Here and The Wall at various points in the album.

Mostly ambient instrumentals with one vocal song. In a way it kind of reminds me of vintage Tangerine Dream.

Since I was reminded of Tangerine Dream by both the Floyd album and Bill's post from last night I figutes it was time to pull some out. There are my two favorite T Dream albums:

The cover photo on this album was actually a picture of the front entrance to the building my wife was working in when the album was released, rotated 90 degrees clockwise (although the building did not have a face at the end of the hallway.)
