Judy Collins
Koussevitzky Music Shed @ Tanglewood, Lenox, MA (USA)
September 3, 2022

(with Richard Thompson)

Lineage: SP-CMC-8 mics > SP-SBSP-1 battery box > Edirol R05 (24/48) > Adobe Audition CC2020 (level boost) > WAV > AlexPhoenix > Audacity: Click removal to attenuate loud applause, some stubborn applause peaks removed, normalized to -1.0db, applause after Suzanne shortened, tracked > TLH > Flac Level 8

Recorded by: Smores.

Mastered, edited & tracked by AlexPhoenix.

I track shows so that the start of the track is as close to the start of the music as possible, with any applause etc at the end of the tracks and in-between chat/banter tracked separately where possible. That way, a listener can line up the tracks in their player and skip from the end of a song to the start of the next track. As interesting and delightful as Judy's anecdotes may be, I (for one) would not like to hear them repeatedly.

Bill: Judy Collins/Richard Thompson

Judy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable songwriting, personal life triumphs, and a firm commitment to social activism. In the 1960s, she evoked both the idealism and steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustices. Six decades later, her luminescent presence shines brightly as new generations bask in the glow of her iconic 50-album body of work, and heed inspiration from her spiritual discipline to thrive in the music industry for half a century.

Sometime later today I shall be listening to Grateful Dead, October 6, 1977 from the Activity Center (ASU) in Tempe, AZ. Just yesterday, and for the first time, the *complete* show has been put into circulation, by GD pioneer Charlie Miller. This is a SBD > Cassette Master > DAT (48k) > WAV and has been mastered in Adobe Audition CC2015 > Samplitude Pro X3 Suite to remove dozens of clicks and make it pitch correct. Previous sources were missing the overwhelming majority of set 1. Today will be a good day.

A great show with great sound from this great quintet!!  Coltrane has been replaced by Sonny Stitt with excellent results.
An inspired performance by an overshadowed version of the quintet.
