George Winston: Spring Carousel

Dancing Cat CD

A collection of George Winston solo piano compositions based on the sonic image of a whirling carousel.

The first one or two cuts were interesting, but after that the theme got old in a hurry.

Oh well, it came out of the quarter bin, so nothing much lost.

John Coltrane ‎– Blue Train
Label: Blue Note ‎– 7243 4 95326 1 8, Blue Note ‎– BST-81577
Series: The Treasures Of Blue Note
Format: Vinyl,  Reissue
Country: US
Released: 2008

Changed all ICs in vinyl playback to AudioQuest, added a TWL 7+ to amp, and even ran a small drain wire from turntable bearing nut to ground nut on turntable wiring block. I think that last wire did more than anything, a .5 cent fix. Now listening to see what I got.

I wish this thread had a way to reply to the individual posts... Just picked up the ‘Caffeinated Coffee’ album Tmazz posted about a couple of pages back. I agree, it’s a well recorded cd with above average music.
Or is there a way and I just am missing it?

Essential Jazz - Smooth and Cool

Time Life CD

Another great sounding collection from Time-Life

What does Time-Life do that eludes so many others? I agree that they sound uniformly excellent. Unless I absolutely loath the music, I will always grab their compilations in the used bins. They also generally provide excellent liner notes. Rhino records ain’t too shabby either.

I wish I knew... or I should say I wish other companies knew as well.

Of course the other good thing about Time Life collections is that with a very few exceptions used copies are almost always very reasonably priced.
