"At some point, whenever I can find the time,  I plan to start a shootout thread comparing some of my original vintage jazz pressings to reissues"

That would be interesting.

And any comparisons between different reissues would be interesting as well as newer is not always better.

Tom -

Let me know if you like the 2 Mobley's after you hear them once or twice. I'm thinking of putting them on the shopping list.

So yesterday afternoon I needed to go out and pick up some things for my son's Boy Scout uniform. The only parking spot I could find was down the block right in front of the Salvation Army Thrift Shop. As I'm getting out of the car I looked through the window and what do I see but a large bookcase full of CDs. Hmmmm, the scout uniform can wait a little while...........

Well like most thrift shops, 98% of the CDs were junk, but stuffed in the back of one of the shelves I spotted a mint condition copy of the DCC 24K Gold CD pressing of the Beach Boys Endless Summer. Prices for this disc on Amazon start at $90 for a used copy. And I grabbed it for the righteous price of....... 2 bucks!

Sometimes its just not about the money but rather the thrill of the hunt.

Tell them what you paid for that title!

That's not the Bill I used to go through used records with.

Jerome would be proud of me it cost more than a $1
but less than $41

Later I thought I should explain. Not because of price but because I bought something very special to me
