It has been around since BluRay was first introduced but has never really gained any traction in the marketplace, kind of like DVD-A

I never came across it before. My favorite format DVD Audio has bit the dust. What I have found for quality recordings is not the "final" format. It is the format it was recorded in that sounds the best to me. I believe the LP/CD debate is flawed as most material in CD was remastered from analog. In that case I listen to the LP if available. With DSD the same must be recorded in DSD.
Years ago we went to a recording studio in Trenton NJ and the digital feed sounded better than the analog feed. Our club was stunned by that.

Wasn’t aware of Blu-ray for audio. So many formats never gained traction. I’m surprised that Sony won this battle. I recall being talked into buying a Betamax by a co-worker and we know how that turned out.... :roll:
