Your son's push-pull 8 watt amp sounded real good today on my Tannoy system!  :thumb:

Pete,
A big thank you for letting him insert his first project. And I agree it did not sound bad at all!
Of course your 300B's smoked it,
And thanks for having us!

BTW both systems sounded exellent, I was quite impressed with you Klipschorns system, very dynamic, delicate and refined. So natural sounding it was seductive!!
I love those 2a3 amps, music just floats with pinpoint imaging, quite a feat to pull off.

Mike
System consists of an amp a preamp, 2 speakers a turntable and a phono preamp, Also some cables and power cords and a really cheap cd player.

Glad he got em going!

Pete, what does (KB-RO) mean on your K-horns?  Thanks. I was just reading about them looks interesting.

Mike,

It's great having people like Pete around to provide assistance.  I'm sure Andrew feels proud of his accomplishment too.  One of his next projects should be a Pass amp.

Ooooh yeah, if you liked those Klipsch, you will love listening to a pair of Altec 19's with upgraded XO...and, I just happen to have a friend who may sell his pair.   You may even get Andrew interested in the AudioKarma Econowave DIY speaker project too.  Lou says, dangling the audio carrot...lol

Happy New Year,
Lou
A musically satisfying system is 50% the components and 50% you.  Until you have a handle on your own "inner sensibilities to sound and music," you are only dealing with half of the equation.

Lou,
You may be right about a few things!
Yes a Pass amp, I know Nelson publishes schematics, but he has to learn how to read schematics, that's a whole new language
But they say teach em when they are young

Altec 19...humm....could be interesting

"WO" is oiled walnut... if "WL" - laquered walnut... most common wood on K-horns were oak & walnut...
