Oh, yeah.  I forgot:

Pete Belasco - Deeper

21Hz - 808 drop... it is a pant leg shaker for sure!

This is a great album. Found it on Roon. Thanks, Dave  :thumb:

Jim two soundtracks that Harry Pearson used to play for us for bass. Thin Red Line and Gladiator. Fasten your seat belt for Gladiator.

I experienced the ‘808 drop’ that PI referenced. I had never heard the phrase before. Thanks again to all- I’m going through these as I write...

Ralph Vaughan Williams,  Sinfonia Antartica  third movement.  When the pipe organ kicks in in full crescendo... wow.  It represents a rise of mountains that the explorers see that they have to cross.  Written about the doomed Scott expedition that perished in 1912.

The 808 drop is a bass drum sound from the Roland TR808 drum machine from 1980.  The samples from it are probably the most widely used drum samples in music history.  They have been pitch shifted, companded, truncated, used as an envelope shaper... everything you can imagine.  It is a very cool effect.
