Tidal just released two singles from Patricia Barber's upcoming album "Clique"(release date 8/6/21.
The songs, This Town and All is Fair in Love are good both musically and sonically, but what really caught my attention is that they are MQA encoded files that unpack to the full DXD (352/24) format (352/24), which was verified by the display on my DAC.
I never realized that MQA could go that high. It was my impression that MQA topped out at 192/24.
This could be an interesting development.
The album is being offered as an MQA encoded CD, although that will not do me any good as my DAC will only do MQA via the USB input and my CD layer lacks a USB output.
