Steve Wilson | Format: Vinyl

Steven Wilson is a twice Grammy-nominated producer, writer and performer, best known as founder and front man of British prog-rock band Porcupine Tree. I love their work, but vinyl is limited and expensive.

I saw this 2x lp set yesterday, cringed at the $35 sticker, but bought it anyway.

Wilson has been remastering old King Crimson tracks, and there's some of it on this, his 2nd solo work.

If you like the Porcupine Tree / Steve Wilson stuff you have to grab the vinyl right when it is initially released. They sell out quickly and prices double. I got the Grace For Drowning double LP for $25 on release (should have bought two and sold one).

Glad I got this on vinyl though - it sounds superb.

John Coltrane | Format: flac

Considered one of Coltrane's finer works, yet accessible to the neophyte jazz fan. With Mile's rhythm section, and Curtis Fuller on trombone and Lee Morgan on trumpet.

It was Morgan's work on the ballad "I'm Old-Fashioned That Way" that led me to start collecting his work.
