Buddy Miller - "Majestic Silver Strings"

Quote
The Majestic Silver Strings is Buddy's reimagination of classic country songs with unrestrained guitars, atmosphere and attitude. Buddy and the three acclaimed guitarists Bill Frisell, Marc Ribot and Greg Leisz (together they are The Majestic Silver Strings) together push each song into a new cosmos warped in reverb. Guest vocalists include Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, Lee Ann Womack, Chocolate Genius and Julie Miller.

This is my current fav CD. A friend of Rob S. played it for me on vinyl with his Maggie Tympanys with AR tubes. Memorable!  Both men are in their prime.

Dexter Gordon - Doin' Allright

     45 rpm LP

First off I'd like to say I'm not a huge Jazz fan. I have found Jazz albums I like and this is one of them. After reading alot about these 45 rpm LP's on A/N I decided I'd like to try one. This one became available for a 20% discount (sealed) so I purchased it.  Now on to the Lp. The packaging is heavy and beautifully well done. The vinyl is spotless and I found it to be extremely quiet. Now to the sound. I do not have another pressing to compare this too but the sound was just tremendous. I'm afraid that's about the best I can do as to a description of the sound as I have a difficult time putting it into words.
My thanks go out to Jerome for being my vinyl guide  :) and all his help...........Pumpkins really doen't express themselves very well. What do you expect from a fruit ??

Alice Cooper ~  Easy Action
I'm about to put this one on and sound wise I'm sure there won't be the same magic as in the previous post. But again what do you expect from a Pumpkin ??

You said you enjoyed the music and the sound quality was great.  I think you expressed yourself just fine. :thumb:  Anything beyond that is little more than audiophile gibberish.  For example, check out this video of two audiophiles discussing their favorite vinyl reissue pressings.

Wow Bill - Dexter Gordon, I'm proud of you.  ;)

Next time you visit the crack house look for a copy of his album 'GO'.

And Jerome - Eric Idle is butt funny, as was all the Python troupe.

Siegried & Roy: Dreams and Illusions

CD

I was hoping to find some music in here that my son could use in his magic shows, but it all turns out to be too "big stage-ish" for what he does. Other than that decent SQ and typical soundtrack type music.

Oh well, it was only a buck.

Lou Donaldson: Blues Walk

Blue Note CD

OK SQ not as good as the LP, but certainly miles ahead of the SQ on that piece of cr@p LP I got stuck with from Amazon a few weeks ago.
