Title: Revealing My Secret Of Cheap Great Sounding Music...
Post by: James Edward on October 15, 2017, 03:19:49 PM
As I sit here listening to a greatest hits cd of Bob Seger, purchased today for two! (2) dollars, I felt I should share. If you are in suburbia, garage sales routinely have cds for sale, at a going rate of one to two dollars. The local Goodwill charges 1.99, as does another place called Savers.
Here's what makes these so good:

1. Often the cds are in great condition. Most people just don't listen to music all that much.

2. You can find a lot of older cds, and that means: they were put out before 1995, the watershed year of the loudness wars in both new music and anything that was remastered.

2a. The older cd releases had MUCH better insert material, meaning better liner notes, complete lyrics, better cases, etc.

3. Not to mention some wacky titles that you might want, but would never spend 10 or 15 dollars on. Case in point- I bought this for 1.99 today also:

Have a good night.

This is indeed a good find! 50 tunes for under $2 bucks - this is almost $38 new! Gigantor, Space Ghost and Top Cat!  8)
