Title: Heard Greg's new speakers yesterday
Post by: BobM on January 09, 2017, 05:04:49 AM
Went over to Steve's house and heard Greg's new copper ribbon speakers driven by Pass amps. All I can say is ... if you are looking for a pair of speakers at this price point you owe yourself a favor to listen to these first. They are truly killer. Of course, you do need a room big enough to handle 6' tall panel speakers, because they do need some room to breathe.

Great job Greg, once again.

I heard them as well. When we showed with Greg at Capitol Audiofest with his former design they were very well received.
His latest design is heads and heels over the one we demonstrated.
So good I ordered a pair. A custom pair with different wiring and cap.

Charles,
Congratulations! I was just at Greg's house yesterday and heard the prototype of his latest generation speaker. Oh my! indeed.!

One of the best speakers I ever heard in my life!
 You will be very happy.

When you take delivery I hope you can put all the back and forth between us behind you and we can have a listening session at your house.
That would be worthy of a rave!
They just keep getting better and better.

congratulations again you bought one of the best speakers on the planet

Mike

Well my son wants the Bimmer so I will restore it for him for the future if he gets good grades,

I am actually thinking of having a smaller pair built for myself.
I like big orchestral and choral music, his speakers are a classical music lovers dream come true.
Do you need his speakers if you are a Lady Gaga freak?  No
But all that detail and all those layers broken up so beautifully with such refinement is an oral orgasm.
Can you imagine hearing a large orchestra and a large choral group delivered with such realism, as if you can hear each voice individually! Amazing
Cones just can't react that fast, I have yet to hear the new open baffle bass, but that must be glorious, such deft speed, especially good for acoustic bass!

those speakers,, a nice first growth Bordeaux, burn a little Kyara incense, and some great music....ahhh perfection

Going a step further with my pair. No wood top or bottom panel. No steel screws. Full grille cloth from top to bottom. side wood panels to be wider 6" with tapered end.
No wood base either. Spikes at bottom of side panels. The opening for the tweeter will be angled like a horn [ no square opening]
Finish will be piano black. Now that impedance is 4 Ohms the Arions will be pumping 1000W/ch.
    Excited and waiting.
