Melody introduces the AN845 integrated amp and P2688 preamp

Two new models from Melody have arrived and we just debuted them at the California Audio show.

AN845 Integrated Amplifier

SET design utilizing 2x845, 2x6EM7, and 1x5U4 for 22wpc of class A power.  Comes with all the other amenities from the "AN" series like the AN211 and AN300b, but with an extra bonus of about 8lbs due to some step-up transformers being utilized.  Your back will thank you.  Also, the tubes themselves are top notch: the Shuguang produced 845's are from the Pavane line, and the 6EM7's are NOS Raytheons.  It's the new king of the mountain for Melody integrateds and retails for $7299.

P2688 Preamplifier

Step-up from the Pure Black 101 still uses the distinctive 101D tube, but switches from four 6SN7's to a pair of NOS Western Electric 403's.  Full tube compliment is 2x101D, 2xWE403, and 1x5U4.  Internal parts quality also steps up to the level of the other "AN" series with larger, better transformers, Mundorf silver-in-oil and Jensen copper foil capacitors, and WBT style binding posts, terminals, and connectors.  Retail price is $6999

Very cool pieces. Big fan of big power SETs with the 805 and 845 being my favs. The 845 mono blocs are beautiful sounding amps and I sure do miss them
