I'll give this a qualified recommendation. If you are open-minded musically you might enjoy it. Ulmer borrows from several genres in this, his most accessible record before he turned to making blues albums. There are elements of funk, reggae, and world music woven throughout the album. It's a great record in my opinion, though I tend to favor his earlier, more adventurous free jazz recordings such as
Tales of Captain Black and
Free Lancing.
