Very nice indeed. If only I had not just spent more money on stereo stuff today!  Had the Nikon 6006 years ago and wish I had kept that one.

The 5100 is a great unit. My wife has one and it takes great photos. Good luck on the sale.

I'm assuming you have this for sale elsewhere.. was wondering if it sold and what you got for it... I have a 5100 and would like to upgrade to something like D600 or 610...
Thanks,
Carl

No,it hasnt sold. I have it on Craigslist  hoping to get lucky. Got a few nibbles at my price and a few scammers .Ebay is no better since there are at least 25 other D5100 selling.

Cameras, as I've found out, have terrible resale value. As you can see the market is always flooded with last years models. Expect to sell at fraction of what you paid for it.

If you're looking for an upgrade, buy USED!

I think I'll just keep what I have.  I wish I had taken the time to understand what aps-c, full frame, and 1/1.7 actually meant.

I thought the 5100 was full-frame and that my P7700 was a cropped sensor.. I was very wrong.  I also thought the market was great value.. I was getting pro-level quality for cheap... No, that's not the case either.

I have some old, cheap Pentax K-1000 film cameras/lenses.. and cheap Canon's and I was thinking of getting back into film.. until I came across my medium and large format negatives.. and I remembered the tonal range of those.  If I go film, I think I need to go big to get the IQ (image quality) I'm looking for (fine art storytelling types of scenes).

Now I'm not sure if I'm going to go back into film, dig deeper into digital, or what.. sigh.  I have a lot of cameras, all amateur level.  :(  I think if I sold everything I have in gear, I'd get a grand... maybe.
