I was a sealed copy with a drilled case. It was not marked as such, but given the timing I would think it was a promo copy that just got traded without ever being listened to.

Was going to go to beach yesterday, but forecast was for T-storms all day.

For past week, Pumpkinman's crackhouse had been showing some great, audiophile jazz pressings online, not the norm.

So I drove up to get Kenny Burrell - Midnight Blue, as its one I've been looking for.

Well, it was a Music Matters release as most of the others I'd watched all week were. And he wanted $75, too rich for my blood.

But I did grab 2 MoFi releases from Miles 2nd great quintet;

Miles in the Sky
Filles de Kilimanjaro

At checkout, behind the register, was the MoFi boxed set of;

Kind of Blue

So that came home with me as well, even though it wasn't on my 'want' list.

The MoFI 45 RPM box set of Kind of Blue is just outstanding. It may not have been on your want list, but it should have been.

My daughter starts grad school at Harvard next week so yesterday we drove her up to Boston to get her settled in the dorm. And while looking around the neighborhood what did I come across but a record store called Stereo Jack's. Well this afternoon I thought it would be a good idea to get out of the way while the ladies worked on decorating her room. hey, any excuse is better than none. 😉

Not really a top shelf store, but the did have a decent amount of stuff for one to three dollars.

Brahms: Symphony No 1 - Ansermet/Suisse Romande - London Treasury LP
The Choir of Kings College Cambridge: Evensong for Ash Wednesday - Argo LP (TAS List)
The Don Ewell Quartette: Yellow Dog Blues - Audiophile Mono LP
Count Basie: Basie Land - Verve LP
Count Basie: Basie's Beatle Bag - Verve LP
Oscar Peterson: History of an Artist, Vol. 2 - Pablo LP
Johnny Hodges at the Sportpalst, Berlin - Pablo  2 LP Set
Metronome All-Stars 1956 - Verve LP (Japanese Pressing)
Herb Ellis & Red Mitchell: Doggin Around - Concord LP

Vivaldi: The Four Seasons - Jacques Loussier Trio - Telarc Jazz CD
Dick Hyman - Thinking about Bix - Reference Recordings CD
Mozart:Serenade No 10 - Fennell/Eastman Wind Ensemble - Mercury Living Presence CD
Eric Bibb & Needed Time: Good Stuff Earth Beat CD

I also found a place not too far from her called Cheapo records, but I did not have time to make it there before we headed home.Not Mr. Cheapo, but close enough that I will need to check them out on my next trip up there.

As a result of my buying spree over the past week I currently have piles of over 50 LPs and a dozen CDs that are awaiting their first spins.  :roll:

So what did I do today..... bought more records.  :duh

Hey, it wasn't my fault. I got an email this morning about a 55% off sale on everything in stock at insound.com.

I ended up getting 3 single LPs and one 2 LP Set, all 180g discs for a total of less than $50.

How could I walk away from a deal like that.

55% off all LPs & CDs and free shipping on all orders over $25.

Sale ends at 11:59 PM EDT tonight.

Check it out
