Eleazar's 2nd home - the Crack House and Crackie the vinyl dealer.

I see all the boxes on the floor in the aisle are gone, those boxes are called 'Classical display area', so Crackie cleaned house before the video was shot.

Just back from biz trip to Chicago where I looked for, but at first couldn't find Reckless Records, but stumbled into Jazz Record Mart;

http://jazzrecordmart.com/

Found what i wanted the most Stanley Turrentine with his wife Shirley Scott - "Never Let You Go", plus;
Duke Ellington & John Coltrane - "Duke Ellington & John Coltrane"
Bill Evans Trio - Sunday at the Village Vanguard
Bill Evans - "Waltz for Debby"
Bill Evans & Jim Hall - "Undercurrents"
Eddie - 'lockjaw' Davis - Afro-Jaws

Also, ordered 3 CDs with Tina Brooks on sax, 1st arrived - "back to the tracks".

I had about 15 minutes to kill before work today so I figured I would do a quick run through at the Crack House. I ended up having one of the best days I have had there in a while:

1. Al DiMeola: Elegant Gypsy
2. Arthur Feilder/Boston Pops: Feilder's Favorite Ovetures
3. The Crusaders: Those Southern Knights
4. The Rhino Borthers: Circus Royale
5. Electric Light Orchestra: A New World Record
6. Emerson Lake & Palmer: Pictures at an Exhibition
7. Fusion is...Barry Miles - Century Records; Direct to Disc (Limited Edition s/n 0193)
8. Laurindo Almeida: Virtuoso Guitar - Crystal Clear Recors; Direct to Disc
9. Peter Appleyard Presents - Salisbury Laboratories; Direct to Disc

These all look like they came from the same collection and are all in mint shape, several of them don't even have any spindle marks.

In celebration of Memorial Day that Crack House ran one of its 50% off sales. I usually do n ot do well at these sales because there are so many people picking through everything. Not unexpectedly I got completely sunked at the vinyl bins (well, StereoNut and I got them for about 25 albums on Sat afternoon ) I went over to the CD racks and picked out 5 CDs only to find that all five of them had been shoplifted out of the cases.  :evil:

I was just about ready to call it a day and leave empty handed when I sawe an entire grocery cart full of CDs being wheeled out of the back room. BINGO! I ended up getting 39 CDs, 1 SACD Hybrid and 2 DVD movies for under $36, including tax.

Nothing really rare or valuable, but lots of good music none the less.

Will post up details as I listen to them.

Wow, are you saying that your wife actually went to PREX with you? My wife has put up with a lot of stuff related to my audio hobby, but she draws the line at actually going into record stores with me. I might have been able to get her to go along for the ride to Princeton, but once we hit the main drag she would have been out of the car saying "I'll just check out these boutiques, call me when you are done in the record store."

Tom -

I've met Mrs Pman numerous times record shopping, she's building quite the collection of her own.

+1 for "42 items for $36. I'd call that just plain terrific Tom"

My wife never had the urge to have her own system. I am just thankful that she tolerates mine.  :roll:
