Mapleshade and GALLO speakers....

Lonewolf, I know that the speakers in the Mapleshade room were Gallos and I added that info. to my original post just to clarify that, but I don't remember what the other room was!?!?

Anyone care to comment on the sound in that room...

I overheard Anthony talking to Pierre on the phone last night, and Pierre was very pleased with the sound he was getting, but I'm interested in hearing a less biased point of view ;)

Thanks, Barry

I hate to say this Barry, but I am in agreement with John Atkinson's assessment of the Mapleshade room.  It was one of the poorest sounding rooms in the show. (At least when I visited it anyway.)  Their system had a strident top end and overall a very "dis-jointed" sound.  No offense to Pierre, but I was extremely disappointed in their room.

Just my 2¢

Ouch! Thanks Bill, sorry to hear that, but honestly, honesty is the only way they can learn how they're doing.

Thanks for all the photos Bill and it was a pleasure meeting you in person. I had a great time at this show but got tired out pretty quickly running between the two room (1st and 3rd floor).

The people in the Audio Power Labs room were great and we were honored that they asked for our preamp to be used in the room for the debut of the 50TNT amps

The APL group took the Silver Statement back with them to try out in there faclitity's showroom :thumb:

In the Daedalus room, it was was nice hanging out with Lou and Tony (from Bob Carver LLC) who we have showed with a couple times already. Both room did very well at this show and it was well worth the trip down.

I would also like to thank Gary Gill for making this event happen and being so friendly.

Thanks for the thanks, Bill.  Even though they're not professional quality, it was fun snapping pix with my little point & shoot digital camera.  I was the "official un-official" Audio Syndrome cub reporter and photographer for the show! :)

It was a pleasure meeting you in person as well.  I appreciate your lending some of your expertise to me in regards to some of the system changes I am trying to accomplish. I hope to visit your showroom in upstate NY sometime soon, although I'll have to wait a while before I take my next audio roadtrip if I want to stay happily married!!!

Aside from all of the audio gear and music, it was great fun in being able to "put faces to names" with people like yourself that I only knew through the audio forums up 'til now.

I owe a "shout out" to a lot of people I met this weekend.  I just have to make the time to do it.  Slowly but surely I'll get there.

Ouch! Thanks Bill, sorry to hear that, but honestly, honesty is the only way they can learn how they're doing.

P.S. I wonder what was going on with that set-up, or done to those speakers, to end up with such a poor result(?) Having a set myself, and getting great results at home, and decent results just setting them up quickly at various audio gatherings (that many here have heard), I find the extreamly poor results Pierre got at the show surprising.

I've heard your Gallo's twice in the past 5-6 weeks in two different locations and with minimal set-up, they sounded really good. :thumb:

If you look at my pix on post #44, they tore the poor things apart, put them on various wood stands, moved them around and everything is at different angles than your speakers.

That should be explanation in itself!

Anyone care to comment on the sound in that room...

Barry, I didn't go in there. Last year it wasn't great, even with the Sonist speakers that I liked this year. Sorry!

Mapleshade had the Gallo home theater satellites down on the floor shooting up.

Actually, they're all metal, and they were redesigned not too long ago, with different internal amplifiers, so they're faster and more powerful than before.
