All in One Audio Amplifier IC
« on: August 10, 2012, 09:59:42 AM »

digital input, DSP, DC>DC boost, 2W class D power amp, all on one tiny chip.

http://www.nxp.com/news/press-releases/2012/07/revolutionary-mobile-audio-solution-delivers-over-5-times-the-power-to-micro-speakers.html

Intended for portable devices, adding more power to make tiny speakers sound better, allow EQ boosting bass, etc. Could it sound good enough for 110dB hifi horns?

Interesting find Richidoo. Whole lotta chips going on these days. Here a chip there a chip everywhere a chip, chip.
How can we as analog beings handle the onslaught of the chip ? To chip or not to chip. I think da horns are better suited for analog [ tubes] than da chip. However one never knows until one tries.

Charles, a chip is not necessarily digital. It is just a means of implementing a circuit...
