Carl,
I saw the challenge regarding the full-range audition, posted in the notice on the Triangle site.  You might want to  sport a pair of THESE the 17th

Just an update... I'll be bringing the following from Herbie's Audio Lab to the Nov 17 G2G at Rich's.   I've been curious about Steve Herbelin's tweaks for awhile so I thought this would be a good opportunity to check them out and get feedback from others at the same time.   Anything that's not already sold will be available at the G2G at the 10% discount offered by Steve to Triangle Audio Society members if anyone is interested. (and if all is sold, we'd hit the 15% discount).  What's not sold will get shipped back to Steve the following Monday for a refund, so my investment is just to check these things out and make for an interesting G2G.

For details on any of these, just visit HerbiesAudioLab.com

    Ultrasonic 7 & 9 tube dampers
HAL-O JR. Titanium Dampers (for tonearm or IC terminations)
    1" Tenderfeet footers
    IsoCup w/acrylic ball footers
Big Fat Dots (regular and small sizes)
    Black Hole CD Mats
    Grungebuster Dots (40mm)

plus a bunch of 0-ring giveaways thrown in by Steve.

FWIW, I've not had a chance to use any of these yet, but if reviews and user feedback are any measure, these seem to be great bang-for-the-buck tweaks.

Thanks Mike!! I can't wait to hear those after so many people telling me how great the dampers are. I have not used any isolation stuff on my own system, but heard some great systems that use it. That will be a fun comparo too.

Usher Be-718 speakers are here now, I hope they will still be here at time of meet? They sound fantastic. I think the true "audiophiles" in the crowd will really love them. We could use a pair of proper stands for them if anyone has a set easy to transport? They are about 40 pounds each, largish bookshelf size, not as big as Ken's Timepieces though. I'm using upside down end tables - sturdy and proper height, but far from optimum.

Carl has offered to bring his Piega's over too. So if all the stars line up we may have a few speakers to listen to. Thanks Carl....

For those who haven't checked the Triangle audio society website in a few days, Bill O'Connell from Morningstar Audio is coming to the meet, and bringing his new EL156 monoblocks.
Party on Garth!

Rich:

If no one has a pair of stands not being used I will bring my stands.  I am really excited and looking forward to hearing the Ushers and the new Eastern Monoblocs.

Take Care,

Ken

You got it Chris. I think I have finally figured out how to take pics with my D70, hopefully this time they will come out OK withtou photoshop's help.

Thanks Ken!  I just may take you up on that if there are no other takers. You were the UHaul man last time, too. Thanks for helping to make these meets such a success.

I think it will be an incredible combination, Usher and EEmonos. The ushers already sound dyn-o-mite with the Snappers. But at supposed 83dB, another 60 watts won't hurt one bit. They did not sound noticeably less sensitive than Legacys.  :?

Not sure if these stands would be the correct height as they are only 18inches but I have a pair of Skylan stands that are sand filled that I would be more then happy to throw in the trunk for the 1000 mile trip. They shouldn't hurt gas mileage that much

These speaker stands probably are a little to small as I just measured with the height of the Ushers at 16 inches and they come up to the height of the beginning of the Superhemp drivers. Maybe if we can cut off all the legs of Rich's furniture we would be at the proper soundstage height. I'm sure Julie wouldn't mind.
