Have fun but how do you hear a preamp in a "system" other than your own ? Are you bringing another to compare to ?

I guess its like hearing horns, or pipe dreams or Maggies or Quads.
By that logic why even have shows?

I understand your point, just don't completely agree with it.
Of course the best way to compare a piece of equipment with your own is to have it in your system, of course.

But I wasn't there to compare ...just listen.

BTW it was a beautiful piece of gear.

There is no single component by itself  that can do anything. They need company.  Listening to a system with a particular component can only raise interest of hearing said component in ones system.
Pretty it is. How did the system sound ? Having shows sparks interest. Having the manf. and reps explain and offer info is what shows are about. If one is going to a show to buy they are IMO making a mistake. If one is going to a show to investigate a component or speaker and then if desirous  arrange a demo in their system BINGO !
All about doing your homework to achieve synergy of system. Anyway glad you had a good time and thanks for sharing. It is an interesting design.
