Title: Any clue what these are?
Post by: richidoo on September 25, 2017, 06:32:02 PM
Does anybody know what speakers these are? Any guesses?

I saw them on TV show "So, You Think You Can Dance" tonight.  Looks like 3 paper drivers, plus maybe a 4th separate tweeter, or maybe just three drivers with the 2" paper tweeter in the middle.  There is a name plate on the bottom, but too blurry to see it.

Thanks!
Rich

I think it looks more like three paper drivers and the one off center from the rest is a bass reflex port.

If I had to make a wild guess I would say they are something made by Radio Shack.  Although the nameplate is too blurry to read, it looks like it could be the right length and height to be a Realistic  name plate.  Paper drivers and that kind of cabinet would also not be inconsistent with what they produced back in the day.  But I am not familiar enough with their specific products to narrow it down any closer to a particular model.  Again, just a guess based on the gut feel I get when looking at the pic

Found some more pics from videos. But none HD enough to see details.

Definitely it's a reflex port, Tom, you're right. So it's a small paper tweeter.
