Title: Bonjour
Post by: Guy 13 on July 24, 2019, 11:20:30 PM
Hi there.
I've been interested in audio since I was 16 years old and I am now 71 years old.
Still interested in audio, but I am a lot less demanding when it comes to high fidelity.
In the past 55 years, I've owned so many brands and type of equipment that I
would need more space...
Right now I only use my Grace Digital Mondo with a Cambridge 2.1 subwoofer and a pir of Sony
two way speakers. I also have a Schiit Fulla 2 ans SYS for switching from laptop to Internet radio.
This is (Of course) for near field listening, ambiant music while I work on the compter and as well in my office.
Enough power for my need.
At times, I am surprise how good it sounds.
In the past few years my requirement for high fidelity as been much more reasonnable.
I do have other audio stuff, which I will talk about later...
I'm sure many of you remember me from Audio Circle, under the same name.
I am still on planet Vietnam, but I am now sponsering my wife (Paper work - half done)
and we should be leaving Vietnam (Sniff, sniff for me anyway) at the end or middle of next year.
Well, that's it for now.
I enjoy music, it keep's me busy relaxing.

Hi,
how do you add a list of the equipment you own ?
I see it's at the bottom of each post, but under a solid line.

Guy 13

Note : I will have a problem posting pictures,
because of your 600Kb maximum ?

Hi Charles.
Thanks for your nice words.
I tried to do my best, but it was not enough.
Anyway, turn the page, now I'm here and hope to make new friends
and share my experience.

Guy

I saw many familiar names on this forums that I knew from Audio Circle.

Tap on your name, then modify profile, then scroll down to signature and enter equipment. Yes, I realize about the 600 kB. When I took over, I increased it by 100 kB. I really don’t know the trick to reduce the kb in a photo. Our prior co-administrator who really new this stuff has left this forum. Maybe a wise and willing photo poster can chime in. I’ll also consider increasing the kB size. It would cost me some 💵

To resize a picture if you have MS Paint, just load the picture and press the resize button at top left.

Start at 50% and save as a new file to see the new file size.

Hi,
usually refugees flee their country because of war,
well for me, Audio Circle was at time a war zone.

Hi Don,
thanks for the welcome.
I am doing well here, but it's not the same for my Vietnamese wife.
She want and she will go to freezing cold Canada (Montreal, Quebec)
because I am sponsering her, therefore, next year we will be in my home country.
Too bad for me, I like it here and good for here, that's what she wants.
I have a lot of (Too much) audio stuff that I want to sell,
but Vietnamese don't want unknown brands
like GR Reserach, Rythmik, etc...
Sooooo I will have to carefully pack everything and sell it in Canada.
I want now to keep the minimum,
my days of searching for the best of the best audio system is over.
When I can downsize all mu audio belonging, I will post.
Thanks.

Hi Michael.
Still on planet Vietnam and I must say : I like it here
but my happiness will end sometime next year.
I am half way thru the sponsering of my wife
and we (If everything goes well, which was not the case in the past few years ) should
set feet on Canadian ground middle of 2020.
I am packing up everything, especially my precious audio stuff (Three BIG O.B. speakers).
Cannot sell unknown brands like GR Research, Rythmik, etc...
So I will bring with me all the stuff (Sea Cargo) and sell it on Kijiji.
I still have access to Audio Circle via my wife's Ipad and I check what going daily on on AC.
But I was missing writting and sharing my stuff.
So I am back in action here.
Last time we exchange e-mail, you were supposed to send me pictures,
but I gess you are busy buying audio stuff and travelling from USA to Taiwan and vice & versa.
Well, that it for now,
if you want to say more, send me a PM.
Take care and thanks for writing-posting.

Guy 13

Note : Lots of folks from AC here, some I like and some I......

Hi Pete,
you can be sure that I will do everything possible, acceptable, legal
to have fun and hopefully, other members will be contaminated with my Joie de vivre.
Of course, I will share with AN members my experiences, mistakes and success...
Thanks for your welcome.
I am not in a on another planet with many members from Audio Circle where I was...
Let say : I was ell known and appreciated by some AC members that are here.
O.K. Enough said.

Hello Guy,

I saw your question about posting pictures. My favorite solution is Flickr.com. I have an account there, and they host my photos for sharing on any forum. They provide code in HTML or UBB, that I can copy and paste into a post. One of the nice things about this, is that I can then copy a single post to multiple forums without re-uploading the picture(s) to each forum. If you were to look at the code for a post of mine with pictures, hit the "Quote" button, you'll see how it works.

Best, Barry
