Member “Triode” Pete has graciously volunteered to host another Rave-type meeting on Saturday, May 21st at his Massapequa home. Doors open at 1 PM. There’s a possibility member "lissnr", aka Grant, who literally lives "around the corner" from Pete, will be able to open his dedicated "room" for listening to his system later in the afternoon.
Please RSVP by May 15th to Russ Lachow. Since members from the former NY Rave audio club are invited to this meeting, it is essential to determine the number of people attending, to ensure enough food is provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring appetizers, deserts, and beverages. If a non-RSVP guest shows up and partakes in the grub, both arms and feet will be tied, and the person will be hung upside down from the ceiling by the Syndrome Elite Guard.
Pete has a heated salt water pool, and encourages attendees to bring a bathing suit for a temporary watery respite from the audio madness.
Special guests include "Berto", Rob Reich and "Gopher", Fred Ainsley, from Lampizator NA. They will be bringing their "top of the line" world-renowned Lampizator Golden Gate DAC.
Another special guest will be Vinnie Rossi. Vinnie will be bringing his incredibly innovative Vinnie Rossi LIO – Ultracapacitor-Powered, Integrated Amplifier. Details below-
- LIO Directly Heated Triode Linestage (LIO DHT PRE):
Class-A, OTL, zero-feedback and “convertible” DHT triode linestage allowing for use with 2A3 / 45, 300B, PX4 / PX25, 101D / 205D, and SV811 / SV572 triode families.
- LIO DSD/PCM DAC: PCM 32-bit / 384kHz, DSD64 and DSD128. Dual-mono AKM d/a converters
- LIO Phonostage: Class-A, zero-feedback JFET design with MC step-up transformers
- LIO MOSFET Amplifier: Class AB, 25wpc / 8-ohms, 45wpc / 4-ohms, 65wpc / 2-ohms
Still another special VIP guest will be Gary Dews, owner of BorderPatrol Audio Electronics, building the finest low-powered SET & push-pull amps of the planet! Pete's main system has BorderPatrol's S10 EXD 300B SET amplifier with dual choke input-filtered EXD power supplies.
Pete’s main system: Vintage Rosewood Klipschorns with Volti Audio Full upgrades. Loesch & Wiesner Tube Phono & Line Stage Pre-amp with dual monoblock tube regulated power supplies. BorderPatrol S10 EXD 300B SET amplifier with dual choke input-filtered EXD monoblock power supplies Well Tempered Reference Turntable with Clearaudio Maestro 2 cartridge. Goldenote Stibbert 6DJ8 tube CD player. Lampizator Golden Gate DAC. PI Audio Group UberBUSS power conditioner. Triode Wire Labs cable loom.
Pete's smaller room system: Vintage 12" Tannoy Gold Dual Concentrics in Custom Tannoy MusicSeeker Cherry Cabinets (tuned port down to 26 Hz). Vinnie Rossi LIO DHT PRE. PI Audio Group UberBUSS power conditioner. Triode Wire Labs cable loom. Vinnie will be bringing his laptop with plenty of music!
As if two systems isn’t enough sonic fun, there will be a third system in Pete’s garage (Dahlquist & Polk monitors). That system can be set up outside, weather permitting... or perhaps a 4th system to be set-up - TBD!!!
Please email Russ to RSVP & for Pete's address in Massapequa.
For those who wish to use the LIRR, the Massapequa train station is less than two miles from Pete’s residence. Try to arrange a pickup from the station prior to the meeting date with fellow members, or as a last resort call the host to arrange a pickup to his place on the meeting date. Club members will only make a limited number of train runs for pickup. If there is a significant number of people taking the LIRR, it is best to coordinate taking the same train, though best of all is to find a ride and car pool.

Our Club the AudioSyndrome has been around for over 40 years. The club was designed to have audiophiles get together to socialize, listen to the hosts system and talk the audio talk in a private setting.
Over the years we have grown to 40 paid members. The dues are for each meetings snacks and our annual Christmas party. For our members we seek out new products of interest and have manufacturers demonstrate their wares.
As a private club we keep exclusivity for our members at out 10 meetings per year. At times we generously invite non members to our meetings so they can join in joy of presenting new innovative gear from manufacturers. Hoping that the invited guests consider joining our club.
As acting President for over 10 years now my goal is to have our meeting be both a social gathering as well as a musical experience.
We always welcome new members. Come on over, hang out, join. Dues are $30/year. :thumb:

You're making me feel guilty.
I want to pay
Should I make the check out to Charles rollo,or is only cash accepted?
Thanks
Mike
-
Mike, Make that check out to me and I will supply you with plenty of dollar bills so you can make it rain when I enter Petes home gloriously in nothing but a speedo with 2 lard canisters on a gun belt (for shiny nipples.)
Actually I can't go. We are purchasing a new fridge and oven for the kitchen and picking out our shitty piece of granite..
We knew I wouldn't make it... but I wanted my faux gay androgynous audio club raining lard spirit to be there... in uh spirit.

I thought you did that last week?
Just bring granite samples to the meeting and we'll help you pick one out.

Kitchening is a lifestyle choice it seems. Our kitchen guy is trying to ream us on pricing. Granite is a huge racket. You go to a wholesaler. They can't give you prices. Oh no. Then there is a fabricator, he cuts the granite to fit. He can't give you prices.. oh no. Then there is our kitchen installers. They can give you a price. But now its like $85 -100 per square foot. Whose marking it up? We don't know. So we found the granite we liked and they do all 3. Sell, fabricate and install granite. (Anyone dead yet? lol)
At $58 (total per sq foot) for everything...
So its a whole thing. we are getting fkd but wed like a light pumping and not a military full on power hammer drilling.

Reminds me of the good old days of the NYAR over at Audiocircle

Mike you are more than welcome to join. I do not collect money our Treasurer does. That would be Tom Maggorrie.
New members are voted in by our members. All you need to do is come to a meeting then a member would ask for a vote on the new member. You would be asked to leave the room during the vote. Moments later your in.
Our Board of Directors makes the rules not the President. looking forward on having you or ANY others from the Rave.

It's like you don't want me there, or something. :(
But seriously, I saw the pics on AC, and it looks like a bunch of fellas had a great time.

Pete, Erin and the rest of the family. Thx for hosting the event :thumb:
Also, like to thank Grant and Steve for let me listen to your systems.
