P.I. audio group power conditioning thread...
« on: November 30, 2019, 10:14:56 AM »
Tom Mallin is a customer of mine.  He has a dedicated niche in the What’s Best forum and is a prolific writer.  His BUSS experience thread is a treatise on his experiences with the UberBUSS And the BUSS-Stop.  It is an interesting read and I’m quite pleased with his findings.

Good to read about someone who agrees. For years I have been advising to separate Digital from Analog with dedicated lines as described. Adding an UBER on each line further improves the Sound. Then adding that Buss Depot is the icing on the cake. I use [4] dedicated lines all conditioned. At least change your receptacles.

I am vacationing. When I get home, I’ll be installing the new receptacles in my Uber 👍

i've not gone that extreme, but i have definitely gotten improved sonics from plugging my dac, transport and preamp into separate isolation transformers...

Do not Isolation transformers lift the ground ?

They have a three prong plug however I believe the ground is lifted internally. Oh Dave help us out here.

Some Isolation transformers are floating output with a case wire to ground.

Others are 60v-0v-60v where the center tap of the output  is ground.

60/0/60 are balanced transformers.

The ground incoming to the transformer is often tied to the center tap. Maybe always, I haven't seen the inside of more than a few.

Yes, and from what I read, now no longer supported by the electrical code for home use.

I have an old Equi=Tech 2KVA balanced output unit that worked well before it died.  Very quiet system with it.
