Michael,
Gregg has been in the cable business for a dozen years that i know of, so he's doing something right. Straley cables were an early proponent of star quad configuration. He uses high purity copper, and was an early adopter of cryo treatment and burns them in before shipping. His cables are nicely balanced, create image well, good bass, decent detail but not etched or fatiguing. Have I heard better? Sure. I like Wywires and TWL better... but they are at least triple the expense. This model is still in production with a list price of $310 plus shipping, so I'm now asking less than the standard retail. They replaced a set of Blue Jeans and were clearly better across the board.
I got this pair from the late Gary Dodd, who was known to know a thing or two about sound. Interestingly, I find that I like them better with my X-Static speakers than my LS 9's, but I suspect that's because I have to move the 9's closer together to make them reach.
I'm comfortable recommending them. I was going to call Bob in St. Louis today to tell him to put these in place of his Chinese extension cords that he listens to (White Lightning diy).
These are solid audiophile cables that perform clearly over their price point.
