Just saw a great ad for Scottrade. Collecting rare vinyl is the theme of the ad!

Link

OK , it looks like and early 70s vintage Marantz receiver. Who can identify the turntable?

The gyro wheel tuner is a dead giveaway on the receiver and I was thinking AT cart as well, but the TT has me stumped.

Yes, my first separate tuner was a Marantz and had one of those horizontal tuner wheels.

Could the headshell be a clue to the identity of the TT? For some reason I keep thinking it may be a Pioneer TT.

The ScotTrade ad made me think of another commercial some years ago but vinyl was only a little bit of the commercial.

Seems like the current trend is sort of a hipster coffee shop headphone+vinyl rig.. but you don't actually plug your headphones into the vinyl rig.. You wear them around your neck and look at the vinyl rig and say things about it that you've heard from other people.

I really enjoy listening to music.

The latest H&R Block commercial the announcer has a nice turntable on his desk when making the announcement about H&R Blocks prowess in getting people their tax money back.

The TT looks like a Clearaudio one I believe. That or maybe a white Pro-Ject TT. Not really sure.

Watched Mel Gibson's "Edge of Darkness" over the weekend, he stares lovingly first at his tt, then his deceased daughters like tt later in flic.

Saw this one this morning on Bloomberg TV.

Steve Wozniak Cadillac Dare Greatly ad.

SNL even has vinyl making a cameo.

The audio set-up looks like total BS but at least the TT is in the scene.

TT has no counterweight and the pink record has a black blank label, but the bikini babes are all correct.  :thumb:

There is no turntable in this one but it is associating vinyl with a hipster.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng-1hc_-DGc

Toward the end of the commercial you hear the hipster with the spilled wheatgrass shake say that sounds so much better on vinyl.

I remember my one friend was busting my chops saying I was hipster now because of my turntable and I told him no as there is no way I'm ever wearing skinny jeans.

Cadillac's "Dare Greatly" TV ad campaign:

Steve Wozniak and his VPI classic(?) a wall full of vinyl, cans, lying on the couch wondering why he quit Apple with only Cadillac money, instead of Pagani money.

I'm thinking that's a Goldring Elektra/Elan cart.

Marantz receiver with a few burnt bulbs
TT you're guess is a good a mine
