500,000 LPs

"American Pickers" is an antique hunting TV show on History Channel. They found a guy on Maui with a vinyl collection over 500,000 records.

History Channel - 9pm EDT Monday March 28, 2011

Wow, he's got me beat.  :drool:

I downloaded a couple of free episodes of American Pickers last month from itunes. Looks like a fun show.

But this episode I am going to have to keep an eye out for.

  Watch it quite often, Tubes we need a tube find. A half million gee only have 498,000 to go.

Boy, I just had a chilling thought. How many gallons of fluid would it take to run all of those record through my VPI RCM?  :duh

hmmmm,  using some basic 3rd grade math:   
1,000,000 sides of music @ 4 minutes each side ( I know... a little obsessive for my 3 part cleaning process with the disc doctor) gives us 4 million minutes of cleaning ( not including the time to rinse out brushes, and draining used fluid, and putting the albums back, etc.)

so that's 4mil minutes/ 60min/hr gives us  66,666.7 hrs or 2777.8 days or

7.6 yrs of cleaning
No new money spent on audio!!  but starting in 2012!!
