Speaker / System Break-in
« on: January 14, 2021, 06:15:06 AM »
May be a dumb question but we moved and my system stayed in boxes for a good 5 months. It is the same system, same cables and speaker wire. Does a new burn in apply here or no?  I did add a variac for my VTA ST-70 since this place gives we a swing of 116 - 127 VAC.  Thanks.

No Brap. just plug it in and play about 4-6 hours a day for three days everything will settle back.

Thanks Rollo. I'm planning on a visit to the daughter in a couple months. You up for getting together?

I agree. It might take a bit of time for the caps to reform, but not anything like full break in.  And the speakers might take a few hours to loosen up and shake the cobwebs out after not physically moving for all those months, but again, just a small amount of time. Judging by the amount of time you have been posting about having the system up again I would think you are way past that point on both counts.

Time to just sit back and enjoy.  :thumb:
