Mike, you prefer the black cat to the Audience that you once owned?

Rich, never owned Audience (at least to the best of my recollection which isn't all that great of late :duh).  I've compared the Veloce to a Granite Audio and Grover and it clearly bested both.

I have tried a JPS SC3 digital IC and it also was clearly better than the Granite and Grover, but never had a chance to compare it with a Veloce.   But the JPS is also a good bit more expensive than the Veloce.

My 2 cents... if you're looking for a digital IC (RCA or BNC) and you can live with just 1.2m length then the Black Cat Veloce should be on your try list... great price and eval period.

Good point, my bad... But I meant you ;)

There was a Audience Oval yellow digital cable around our gang. I thought it eventually chose to live with you. Maybe Carl has it now.  Thanks

Ah, I do remember that and I think I borrowed it from Carl briefly.  Haven't seen it in a long time.

OK.. to clarify.. It is I that has the Analysis Plus Oval 9 digital IC.  I think it is very good.  I'd be interested to hear it compared to the Veloce.

I also like Audience Au24 IC's but am not familiar with their digital cables... which I think are the same as their regular IC's.

:)

I really enjoy listening to music.

i just had a chat with Chris Sommovigo who designed the Black Cat Veloce digital cable.he is a very nice down to earth guy. he said the BNC connector is the way to go on the MiniMax DAC.Chris is out of town on business so my cable wont ship till the middle of next week  :(  my EE DAC is here now so i am going to have to find the PNF Audio digital cable i have stashed around here somewhere so i can give my new DAC a listen....WCW III

I have been running the MiniMax DAC for about 26 hrs in bone stock form and it sounds about equal to the internal DAC in my Canary Audio CD200 CD player which is not suprising since it is a excellent Redbook player.I still have more burn in to do,plus i need to install the Seimens nickel plate 12AU7,Acme Audio Silver fuse,Black Cat Veloce digital cable and the upgraded LME49990 surface mount op amps with brown dog adaptors and see what happens  :thumb:

Oh, is that all?    That's gonna be a fun adventure for sure. I'm interested in how you like 49990 as I would like to try them in some other places like my mp3 player and my Rane crossover. And as well the Black Cat, since I don't have an explicit digital cable now.

Well thats a full plate. Remember the golden rule. one tweak at a time. Do not allow the Nervosa to intrude. Be strong and resist multiple tweaks.

I rolled the stock Eastern Electric labled 12AU7 out and inserted a Amperex Holland 7316 PQ longplate in its place. it sounded very good with the stock tube but it sounds cleaner and more dynamic with the 7316 PQ in place which is a improvement in my book  :thumb: later on this afternoon i am going to remove the stock fuse and install a Acme Audio Silver Ceramic fuse in its place and see what happens.I was hoping to get my Black Cat Veloce digital cable by today but it might not happen until early next week
