I gave HDTracks a try this past week.  They have a free HD Tracks Sampler available as a free download.

I downloaded the the 96/24 flac version and burned it to a DVD-Audio.  All I can say is WOW!  Soundstage and dynamic range bring recorded audio to another level of enjoyment.  The first track pretty well shows you what your system can do.  The rest of the tracks are variety of very easy to listen to entertainment.

I am glad I gave it a try. If they ever remastered all my old favourites to 96/24 I am sure I would go broke replacing them all.

If you have the opportunity, I recommend you give it a try.

I reeeeally wanna upgrade my Altmann DAC to handle hi-rez data. Mine's only 16/44, just like my Sonos transport. It's coming, the excitement around hirez downloads is increasing, slowly but surely. With no media to worry about going obsolete, publishers and distributors can offer it with no cost premium, only profit upside.
