On the fly VTA adjustment
« on: September 10, 2019, 09:08:20 PM »
I just ordered a modified micrometer that is made into an on the fly VTA adjuster for Jelco arms.  Anyone have on the fly ability and do you use it often?

That'd be cool with different headshells.

The new Schiit table is pretty smart this way because each arm can have it's own VTA set. You buy multiple arms to puts other cars on, and the swap is almost instant. You just have to plug/unplug one connector and lift.

I only have "on the fly" Azimuth adjustment with my Well Tempered Reference Carbon Fiber arm... Makes the Fozgometer a 30 second chore...

My brother-in-law has the VPI Prime 3D Arm with "on the fly" VTA... a really nice option to have!

With the calibration markings on the VPI arm it makes it really easy to reset the VTA for different weight records. 120, 180 and 200g LPs are all different thicknesses. But once you set the correct VTA for each one you can not the numerical setting on the VTA knob and switch it back and forth for the different records.

Getting VTA close is nice, but getting it dead on perfect is way better and the on the fly kob on the VPI allows tou to have it perfect for each record, not jsut for one particular one.

On the fly for my Kuzma 12" Stogi. Sometimes having that variable makes one jump up and adj. too often. Set and forget is now my deal. Yes Pete that Fozgometer did wonders for my TT. Thanks for helping me out Pete. Pete set up my Kuzma like a Pro.
