Little Feat- Live in Holland 1976
« on: June 05, 2014, 08:08:49 AM »
If you're looking for an alternative to 'Waiting For Columbus', here it is...
Just released, it's Little Feat together and pretty much at their peak. The CD also comes with a DVD performance.
The sound is pretty good, a touch warmer than 'Waiting', but by no means audiophile quality. I would guess an audio writer would give it 3/5 for sound and 4.5/5 for the music.
Good stuff.

Cool! Love Little Feat!

Saw them in 1977 at Siena College with Lowell George when "Waiting for Columbus" was getting ready to be released... Saw them a couple times after without Lowell... not really the same... but still good... One summer when visiting my parents upstate, there was a "free" Riverside concert (in a huge courtyard with open bars) with them right near the Hudson River in downtown Albany, NY... I was drinking tap beers with Bill Payne, Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett afterwards... nice guys!

"Waiting for Columbus" is an excellent recording for a Live Album... "Dixie Chicken" is a classic with the "Tower of Power" horn section... Nice dynamics on a horn system!

Cheers,
Pete
